Photon Water is introducing a breakthrough solution for safe water. Our innovative TecPFAS™ technology can effectively remove harmful PFAS substances found in many water sources. PFAS are synthetic chemicals that have been widely used in industry and can have a negative impact on human health. Their presence in water sources is alarming and requires effective remediation.
Perfluorinated and polyfluorinated substances PFAS are a large group of several thousand artificially created organic substances that are widely used in industrial and domestic applications. Most PFAS are persistent (resistant to decomposition) or precursors (forerunners) of persistent compounds. The high resistance of these compounds is due to the presence of a very strong chemical bond between fluorine and carbon. This bond has earned PFAS the nickname forever chemicals.
The TecPFAS™ technology, which we have successfully implemented at multiple sites, is based on an innovative combination of treatment methods:
The raw water is pumped to the water treatment plant's process line through an automatic disc filter to the TecULTRA™ ultrafiltration unit. The water then continues to secondary membrane filtration, where the primary water stream is separated. Depending on the nature of the PFAS (short or long chain), the input concentration, and the required output parameters, the pre-treated water is fed into one of two alternative systems: the selective IONEX and the TecELSORP™ electrosorption unit. Here, excessive concentrations of PFAS and other contaminants are removed as required. The process can be operated with a water recycling system. Control is via PLC with graphical output to a digital panel.
TecPFAS™ technology is equipped with an advanced measurement and control system (MaR) and a Siemens Simatic control system. Alternatively, we utilize the advantages of the Tecomat system.
Photon Water specializes in industrial wastewater recycling. Its innovative approach to wastewater management provides solutions that are not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly.
